Chernobyl Disaster Area 3D Models

01:23 – April 26, 1986

Reactor 4 in the Vladimir Ilyich Lenin, commonly known as the Chernobyl, Nuclear Power Plant in the Soviet Union (currently Ukraine) exploded. The blast dispersed huge amount of highly radioactive materials into the air, making the surrounding area uninhabitable for the next 20000 years. The evacuation of Pripyat / Pry’pyat’ (the nearest town only 3 km / 1.9 mi away from Reactor 4) began 36 hours after the explosion. It has became a catastrophe tourist destination since then and it’s known as one of the most radioactive area on the whole planet.Due to the still high radiation level in the area is an enclosed zone and people can only enter with permission and through security checkpoints.

If you’re working on media projects that deal with this accident and/or the aftermath, you might find useful these brand new 3D models of the Chernobyl Disaster Area | The Zone.
